READ TO BELIEVE: Imran Khan's minister quotes India's Opposition to bolster Pakistan's case but Congress remains unbothered, attacks BJP

Even in the face of the Pakistan government using India's Opposition's joint statement over the events of the past two days to bolster its own case, Rahul Gandhi's aide and Congress media in-charge Randeep Surjewala has issued a flat denial to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's 'let the country speak in one voice' appeal.

Taking to Twitter, Surjewala has point blank refused to "introspect" as Jaitley had implored and has instead taken on the BJP, accusing it of resorting to credit seeking over the sacrifice of martyrs and "blaming the Congress provocatively".

Singling out BJP party chief Amit Shah specifically, Surjewala has tweeted:

Surjewala's diatribe comes just minutes after Arun Jaitley had posted a series of tweets where he had pointed out that the joint-Opposition's assertion that the government had politicised the IAF's precision air-strike on terror bases inside Pakistan had been picked up on by the Imran Khan government.

At an all-opposition meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday - shortly after Pakistan violated India's airspace and attempted to attack Indian military installations using its F-16s - the opposition had issued the following statement:

To this, Pakistan's Shah Mehmood Qureshi wrote:

"Today, the 21 Opposition parties in India have also told the BJP not to play politics on this matter. The Opposition parties of India have said that BJP is using the Pulwama attack for elections, they are politicising the matter," he said.

40 CRPF Jawans were martyred in the Jaish-e-Mohammed-perpetrated Pulwama terror attack.
