USA extends support to India in fight against terrorism after IED blast in Jammu and Kashmir

The United States of America (U.S.A) has shown solidarity with India and condemned the brutal terror attack which took place on Thursday afternoon in the Pulwama district

The United States of America (U.S.A) has shown solidarity with India and condemned the brutal terror attack which took place on Thursday afternoon in the Pulwama district on the Jammu-Kashmir highway.

Taking to Twitter, Ken Juster, the United States' Ambassador to India, expressed his hearfelt condolonces to the families of the martyred CRPF jawans, and vowed to support India in it quest to fight terrorism.

"The U.S. Mission in India strongly condemns today’s terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir. We send our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. The United States stands alongside India in confronting terror and defeating it. #KashmirTerrorAttack," his message read on Twitter.

USA's foreign affairs committe also issued a statement on Twitter in this regard, stating that terror organizations like Jaish-e-Mohammad should not be allowed to operate.

"Chairman @RepEliotEngel: I strongly condemn the terrorist attack in India’s Jammu and Kashmir state today and send my condolences to the families of the victims. Countries must not allow terrorist groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed to operate with impunity. #kashmirterrorattack," the message read.

IED Blast On Srinagar-Jammu Highway, CRPF Jawans Injured: LIVE UPDATES

On Thursday afternoon, an IED blast in the Pulwama district along the Jammu-Srinagar highway rocked the 70-vehicle convoy of CRPF jawans who were heading from Jammu back to Srinagar. A total of 37 CRPF jawans were martyred and several others were injured from the terror attack. Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed the responsibility for the attack.
