Lok Sabha Elections 2024 | PM Modi Addresses Rally in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has released a list of 40 star campaigners for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Odisha. Chief Minister and party chief  Naveen Patnaik, minister Kartik Pandian, MP Sasmit Patra and others included in the list.

Tajinder Singh Bittu, who resigned from the primary membership Congress and his post as AICC Secretary In-Charge Himachal Pradesh, joined the BJP today. Bittu met BJP national president JP Nadda in Delhi this afternoon.

PM Modi while addressing a rally in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka, said, “At least 14,000 pucca homes were built in the last 10 years Those who were not asked or considered earlier were given priority by BJP. We walked on the path of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’.”

Odia Actress Varsha Priyadarshini, who joined the BJD on Thursday, has got a ticket for the Barchana assembly seat. The Odia star replaced sitting MLA Amarprasad Satpathy.

“The poor never dreamt of free ration. Chikkaballapur recieves free ration. This will continue,” said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addresses a public rally in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka today.

“If you had voted for Congress in 2019, Kota would have become the house of PFI. You voted for PM Modi and he ended PFI and put them behind bars. They say that they will lift the ban on PFI. Congress is an anti-development party,” said Shah during his address in Kota. 

“I would like to tell the people of Kota-Bundi constituency that each and every vote of yours given in the name of Om Birla, will be deposited in the account of PM Modi,” said Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah in Kota. BJP has fielded Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla from Kota Lok Sabha seat. 

"As soon as the INDI alliance government comes, we will end the Agniveer scheme. India does not need two types of martyrs. Everyone should get pension. We will change GST. There will be one tax, minimum tax. We will double the salary of Asha and Anganwadi workers..." said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public rally in Bhagalpur. 

While addressing a rally in Maharashtra's Parbhani, PM said that the discourse of elections have completely changed since 2014. 

"In 2014, when I was contesting the Lok Sabha elections for the first time, what were the topics of discussion during that time? What were the topics covered in the newspapers? What were the topics discussed on TV? At that time, the talk was of the fear of terrorist attacks. Every day there was news of bomb blasts...Five years later, in 2019, the discussion of cross-border attacks stopped and the discussion of surgical strikes and 'Yeh toh Modi hai ghar mein ghus kar marega' started..." said the Prime Minister. 

Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a poll rally in Rajasthan's Bhilwara. Addressing a poll rally in Bhilwara, Shah also targeted former chief minister Ashok Gehlot, saying that he was stuck in the election campaign of his son Vaibhav Gehlot, the Congress candidate from the Jalore seat. Vaibhav Gehlot is going to lose the election by a huge margin, the Union minister claimed.

 Andhra Pradesh Congress President Y S Sharmila on Saturday filed her nomination for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat. Sharmila was accompanied by Sunitha Narreddy, her cousin and daughter of Y S Vivekananda Reddy, who was murdered in the run-up to the 2019 polls.

“Filed the nomination as Kadapa MP candidate. Kadapa people did not forget Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and Vivekananda. We believe that they will vote this time by keeping them in their mind,” said Sharmila, addressing a press conference.

Andhra Pradesh CM and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held a roadshow in Anakapalle on Saturday. 

Congress workers organised a protest in Bengaluru ahead of PM Modi's visit and were later detained by the Police. The Police had earlier denied permission for protest. 

"...Kannadigas demand their right. We give Rs 100 to the government of India in taxes and Kannadigas get Rs 13 back only. When they demand their share of their own taxes, Modi ji gives them 'Chombu'. When there has been a drought in the state for six months now, the Congress government of Karnataka is asking for Rs 17,400 crore of drought relief money for our farmers, for our poor across the state, Modi ji gives us 'Chombu'...Time to defeat BJP's government and to elect Congress nationally..." said Randeep Surjewala. 

PM Modi on Saturday at Nanded rally said that over 25 per cent of total Lok Sabha seats, the leaders of INDI leaders are contesting each others. PM said this in reference to “friendly fights” between the INDI alliance like in Wayanad where Left leader Annie Raja is contesting against Rahul Gandhi. 

“PM Modi's leadership is shining in the nation as the sun shines upon this earth...The synonym of trust is 'Modi Guarantee'... PM Modi brought 25 crore people out of poverty... PM Modi should become the Prime Minister for the development of this nation. This election is for the development of the nation,” said Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde at Nanded's Vijay Sankalp Sabha.

“Yesterday, the first phase of polling concluded. I congratulate & express my gratitude to all those who cast their vote and especially the first-time voters. After the polling concluded, the analysis that was done on the booth level and the information that was received confirms that in the first phase, there has been one-sided voting for NDA,” said PM Modi in Nanded, 

Tajinder Singh Bittu arrived at BJP office along with BJP national spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill after resigning from the Congress party on Saturday.

Post Article 370 abrogation, first outsider to contest Lok Sabha polls in J&K. Punjab resident Baldev Kumar has become the first person from outside Jammu and Kashmir to contest Lok Sabha polls in the Union Territory after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Kumar (67), a resident of the Naya Gaon area of Mohali in Punjab, filed his nomination papers from the Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary constituency as an independent candidate on Friday.

 “Sambalpur is a spirited place...This place has a lot of positive vibes. There is excitement among these girls, these are the 21st-century girls. PM Modi has taken the decision to give them a place in para-military forces. I wish them all the best. Sambalpur is a natural sports hub,” said Union Minister and BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Sambalpur, Dharmendra Pradhan, upon meeting Agniveer aspirants at Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Defence Training Academy. 

Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav will address a joint rally in Bihar's Bhagalpur today. 

"Today we have a rally with Rahul Gandhi ji in Bhagalpur. Today we will do a joint rally and we all are working together. The entire 'Mahagathbandhan', INDIA alliance is united and this time Bihar will give good results in favor...Unemployment is the biggest issue in Bihar, there is inflation, poverty, there is an issue of investment in Bihar, factories should be set up in Bihar, there is an issue of migration...People of BJP are very worried and are speaking in confusion. There is no achievement and they say that they will destroy the Constitution. The one who will destroy the Constitution will himself be destroyed..." said Tejasjhwi Yadav.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah Saturday, April 20, is all set to organise rallies in Bhilwara, Kota and Mathura.  He will hold his public meetings in Rajasthan in the first half and will then visit UP's Mathura at around 4:00 pm. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to organise public rallies in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

He will first hold rallies in Maharashtra in the first half. At 10:45 am he will visit Nanded and then at 12:15 pm in Parbhani.

Later in the second half at around 3:45 pm, PM Modi will hold a rally in Chikkaballapur and at 5:30 pm in Bangalore North.
