Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday reached out to slain singer Sidhu Moosewala's father Balkaur Singh, amid speculation that he could contest the coming elections from the Bathinda seat as an Independent. Bajwa along with Congress candidate from the Bathinda seat Jeet Mohinder Sidhu visited Moosewala's residence in Mansa district.

The Mumbai Police also registered a case against the social media handle of Maharashtra Youth Congress for sharing Amit Shah's deep fake video. The case was registered on a complaint filed by Mumbai BJP leader Pratik Karpe. 

A Congress delegation met with officials of the Election Commission of India (ECI) for its complaints. Congress leader Rajeev Shukla said, “We have filed 20 complaints with ECI today. There have been many religion-based speeches. They are spreading lies about Congress manifesto.”

Jailed Jharkhand ex-Chief Minister Hemant Soren's wife Kalpana filed her nomination as the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate from Gandey assembly seat on Monday. The By-polls are scheduled on May 20 along with Lok Sabha Elections 2024.

"We provided the National Commission for OBCs a constitutional status, enforced reservation for OBCs in medical colleges and 10 per cent reservation for the Economically Weaker Sections... We did not take away the rights of one section for the sake of the other. Our idea and way of ensuring social justice doesn't create a divide in society," said Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public rally in Solapur, Maharashtra.

TMC candidate Shatrughan Sinha, who held a roadshow in Barabani, Asansol in West Bengal today, said that it is WB Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's poll guarantee that there will be no CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) and no NRC (National Register of Citizens) in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday slammed NCP Sharad Chandra Pawar party chief Sharad Pawar, without taking his name. While speaking in Pune, PM Modi blamed “wandering souls” for political instability in Maharashtra 45 years ago, when Pawar rebelled against then Maharashtra Chief Minister Vasantdada Patil in 1978.

The nomination process for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 commenced on Monday in Kolkata. The sixth phase of LS Polls will be held on May 25.

JD-S members have demanded suspension of party member Prajwal Revanna after sexual abuse allegations against him rocked Karnataka. A core committee meeting of JD-S has been called on April 30 to discuss the course of action of the party.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that a victory of the Opposition INDIA bloc will lead to its top leaders fighting for the prime minister’s post. “Modi’s return to power is certain. But, suppose, even by mistake, if the INDIA alliance comes to power, what will happen? Who will be the prime minister? Will it be (MK) Stalin, Sharad Pawar, Mamata Banerjee or Rahul Gandhi? They will all settle for sharing the top post for a year each. Rahul baba (Gandhi) will have to settle for whatever is left of the tenure…Is this how the country can be run?” Shah asked. “A third term for PM Modi will lead to elimination of corruption from the entire country, including Bihar, and eradication of casteism in the state," he added. Shah addressed election rallies in Jhanjharpur and Begusarai Lok Sabha constituencies of Bihar today.

“Our government gives free ration to 80 crore people. During Congress rule, food used to rot in godowns. Dr Manmohan Singh was not ready to give food to the needy,” said PM Modi in a rally in Karad, Satara, Maharashtra.

BJP national president JP Nadda on Monday asked who the prime ministerial candidate of the Opposition's INDI Alliance would be. "We (BJP / NDA) have decided that Narendra Modi ji will be our prime minister. But I want to know who will become the prime minister on behalf of INDI Alliance's 'arrogant' coalition. Does anyone know? Who will become prime minister? Modi ji will become. But, who is the prime ministerial candidate from there (INDIA bloc)? Who is the candidate? God forbid if Rahul Gandhi becomes PM, if anyone brings him to the front, will he be able to fight with Corona (pandemic)? Would Rahul Gandhi be able to fight price rise, make a contribution in development and accept the challenges of the world?" asked Nadda, while addressing election rallies at Kothagudem and Mahabubabad in Telangana. 

“Congress kept families of soldiers deprived of 'One Rank One Pension' scheme for 40 years,” said PM Modi at a rally in Karad, Satara, Maharashtra. PM Modi also addressed a rally in Solapur, Maharashtra today. 

"Like I have always said, India is moving forward under the leadership of PM Modi and when India is moving ahead, then 140 crore people are walking along with him to make India self-reliant and a 'Vishwa Guru'. Akshay Kanti Bam has joined and we welcome him. I am happy that he has joined the BJP with a nationalist thinking," said Union Minister and BJP candidate from Guna, Jyotiraditya Scindia on Congress' Indore Lok Sabha candidate Akshay Kanti Bam joining BJP.

"From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Attock to Cuttack, it is just one name and that is Narendra Modi. The other parties are like a procession in which there is no groom, and people of the nation want to see Narendra Modi as the PM for the third time," said former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam, in conversation with PTI.

After resigning from the post of Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely said that there was no anger anyone. He said that through his resignation, he just wanted to highlight the ongoing issues with the party. 

"There is no anger against anyone, I was finding myself inefficient in giving my 100 per cent. I told them that these are the issues the party should focus on, and since I am not able to do them, you should give chance to someone else," said Arvinder Singh Lovely to PTI. 

PM Modi accused the Congress party and INDI alliance of speading lies on the reservation row. 

“Congress and INDI alliance are spreading false news that we will change the Constitution and finish Reservation. I have said before that even if Babasaheb Ambedkar wanted to end Reservation, he could not do it today, so the question of Modi ending Reservation does not even arise. If the intentions of our government were flawed, look at our record of 5 years, from 2019 to 2024, even today Modi has as many votes as he needs, but this way is not acceptable to us,” said PM Modi while addressing a poll rally in Maharashtra's Solapur. 

The Opposition has alleged that if voted again to power, the NDA government will end reservation. 

BJP's candidate from Puri Lok Sabha seat, Sambit Patra filed his nomination papers on Monday. 

PM Modi cornered the Opposition's INDI alliance over Amit Shah fake video row. “Those people, who have already lost the elections, are now making fake videos by misusing technology,” said the PM while addressing a rally in Karnataka's Bagalkot on Monday. 

Union Minister and BJP candidate from Amethi, Smriti Irani filed her nomination papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Monday. "For the service of Amethi, I have filed my nomination today. In the last 5 years in Amethi, 1,14,000 houses have been built under PM Awas Yojana, 1.5 lakh families received electricity connections and over 4 lakh farmers received PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi...I am hopeful that people will bless PM Modi, BJP..." said Irani after filing her nomination.

Union Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh filed his nomination from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat on Monday. He was accompanied by Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami. 

Lucknow will vote in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 20.

AIMIM chief and party candidate from Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi held a door-to-door election campaign in Hyderabad on Monday. 

BJP's candidate from Puri Lok Sabha seat, Sambit Patra held a mega roadshow in Puri ahead of filing his nomination papers on Monday. Puri will go to polls on May 25.

Ahead of filing her nomination, Union Minister and BJP's Amethi candidate Smriti Irani offered prayers ahead of filing her nomination for the Lok Sabha elections on Monday. 

Celebrations are underway at the BJP party office in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Monday slammed the Congress party for its leaders' remarks on CAA. "The real face of Congress has been revealed to the country and the world. The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is not against any person, any caste, or any religion. This is India's message to humanity. Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis, and Christians, were tortured in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan and they came to India as refugees. CAA is in favor of giving them Indian citizenship. Why is Congress allergic to this or why is Congress coming under the pressure of those who are enemies of humanity..." said CM Yogi. 

Defence Minister and BJP's candidate from Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, Rajnath Singh offered prayers at the Hanuman Setu Mandir in the city ahead of filing his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections. 

As Rajnath Singh will file his nomination today, he will be accompanied by state CM, BJP state president and the deputy CMs, said Uttar Pradesh deputy CM Brajesh Pathak. 

"Rajnath Singh is an austerity leader. During his journey from the President of Yuva Morcha to the National President of BJP, he has always paid attention to the Dalits, the exploited, the deprived, and the backward classes and today he is going to file his nomination... This is going to be a grand nomination..." said BJP leader Swatantra Dev Singh. 

Security has been tightened in Lucknow ahead of Union Minister and BJP leader Rajnath Singh's roadshow. Rajnath Singh will be filing his nomination from Lucknow today. 

"From the BJP office to the place of filing the nomination, there is tight security. Everything will be monitored by drones. The CCTVs would also be monitored from the Smart City control room. The traffic diversion plan was also put before the people two days ago..." said DCP Raveena Tyagi on the security arrangements. 

Transgender wing of Aam Aadmi Party on Monday held 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se' campaign in Delhi. AAP leader Dilip Pandey and councillor Bobby Kinnar joined the campaign.

“The entire people of the country have understood the conspiracy of the BJP. They are so rattled by the fear of losing elections that they have started doing unusual things... It has never happened that a campaign song of any party has been stopped, but AAP's campaign was banned at the direction of the BJP. It all symbolizes the acceptance in the BJP that they are losing. People are standing against the BJP's policy of 'jail bhejo'. They are losing and people are giving 'jail ka jawab vote se',” said AAP leader Dilip Pandey. 

Preparations are underway in Lucknow for the roadshow of Union Defence Minister and BJP candidate Rajnath Singh. Singh will be filing his nomination papers today. 

Hubli-Dharwad BJP candidate Pralhad Joshi exuded confidence of securing a fifth term this Lok Sabha elections. “Preparation is exceptionally good. I always be in touch with people. Election machinery has been set. I am quite confident to win the election for the 5th time. Majority of infrastructure work was taken up. Many projects came here in the last 10 years during the PM Modi's regime. Youths go to Bengaluru for jobs, they want the jobs here. We are developing airport in a big way. We are trying for better connectivity between Dharwad and Bengaluru. We are trying to reduce the travel time to 4 hours,” said Joshi. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be holding a rally in Maharashtra's Pune on Monday, April 29. The rally to support all four Mahayuti candidates will be held at the Racecourse Ground in th evening.
