Following the CBSE Board, CISCE has also cancelled the class 10 exams and has made it optional for students to appear in the ICSE exams. While the class 12 (ISC) exams will be held after June, class 10 (ICSE) students will have two options: either to appear for the exams with the class 12 students or skip the exam. The students who skip the exam will be evaluated based on the alternative assessment scheme. Read full details here

CISCE has postponed the ICSE (class 10th) and ISC (class 12th ) exams that were scheduled to begin on May 4. As per the official notice, the board will monitor the COVID situation and the final decision will be taken in the first week of June, 2021.

Amid rising COVID-19 cases, Telangana government has cancelled exams of class 10th SSC board, which were scheduled to be held on May 17th. The decision was taken after a meeting was convened by Education Minister Sabhita Indira Reddy along with other education department officials. The state government has also postponed the 12th standard board exams.

Amid the continuing Covid surge, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday announced that all Class 5, 8, and 10 students be promoted to the next class, without taking any examination, with a decision on Class 12 PSEB exams, which have already been postponed, to be taken later, based on the emerging situation.

For the class 5 students, since exams for 4 out of 5 subjects have already been conducted, results may be declared by the Punjab State Education Board (PSEB) on the basis of the marks obtained by the students in respect of 4 subjects, ignoring the 5th subject. Results for class 8 and 10 may be declared on the basis of Pre-Board examinations or the internal assessment of the respective schools, the Chief Minister directed the Education Department. After the CBSE, the International Baccalaureate (IB) Board on Wednesday came forward to announce the cancellation of examination of its various programmes in view of the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country. The announcement was made after a detailed conversation with the schools, associations and education boards under the IB. 

In a message addressed to the heads and coordinators of schools, the body wrote, "Following continued conversations with our schools, associations and education boards, the IB can confirm that all IB school in India will follow the non-examination route for the Diploma Programme, Career-related Programme and the Alternative task for the Middle Years Programme."

Meghalaya state board class 12 examinations will be held as per schedule with utmost precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Wednesday.

He said the state government has directed the authorities concerned to ensure strict adherence to COVID-19 protocols. As per the press note shared by PIB, "The pandemic situation in the country is seeing a resurgence of COVID 19 positive cases in many states, with a few states having been affected more than others. In this situation, schools have been shut down in 11 states. Unlike State Boards, CBSE has an all-India character, and therefore, it is essential to hold exams simultaneously throughout the country. In the year 2020, CBSE had canceled both, class 10th and 12th exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Their results were prepared based on an alternative assessment scheme. However, the students who were not satisfied with their marks obtained by the alternative assessment were allowed to appear for the board exams in July when the number of cases was dipping.

The Hon’ble Prime Minister chaired a high-level meeting today to review the examinations to be held at various levels in view of the developing Corona situation. In this situation, schools have been shut down in 11 states. Unlike State Boards, CBSE has an all-India character, and therefore, it is essential to hold exams simultaneously throughout the country. Looking to the present situation of the pandemic and school closures, and also taking in account the safety and well-being of the students, it is decided as follows:
1. The Board Exams for Class XIIth to be held from May 4th to June, 14th, 2021 are hereby postponed. These exams will be held hereafter. The situation will be reviewed on 1st June 2021 by the Board, and details will be shared subsequently. A notice of at least 15 days will be given before the start of the examinations.
 
2. The Board Exams for Class Xth to be held from 4th May to June 14th, 2021 are hereby cancelled. The results of Class Xth Board will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.

In view of the surge in the number of COVID cases, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has sought postponement of the Class X and XII Board exams, in order to allay the uncertainty among students and their parents. Maharashtra Government has already postponed the class 10th and 12th board exams that were scheduled to begin from April 23 for class 12th and of Class 10th from April 30. The class 12th exams are likely to be held by the end of May while the class 10th exams will be held in June

In view of COVID-19 pandemic, Madhya Pradesh Board exams for class 10th and 12th have been postponed.

11: 40 IST, April 14th 2021

Lakhs of students and some ministers like Arvind Kejriwal, CM Of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, deputy CM of Delhi and political leaders like Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have been demanding the centre to reschedule the CBSE board exams in view of COVID-19. Millions of students are registered to appear for the CBSE Board exams scheduled to begin from May 4.

As per the Government of India sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold a meeting with the education minister, secretary, and other officials at 12 noon today to discuss the issue of CBSE  Board exams. Students and ministers have been demanding to reschedule the board exams in view of rising number of COVID-19 cases.
